Looking for something to do for Valentine's Day 2013? If you're going to be in New York and you want to do something inexpensive after splurging on an overpriced romantic dinner, head to Times Square. Times Square is offering "Free Love in Times Square."
While it may be bright and busy, Times Square can be a very romantic situation. After all, it is where the iconic kiss between the soldier and nurse took place and thousands share kisses here to start the New Year.
However Times Square will be extra special for Valentine's Day. The will be many activities for couples to engage in as part of the "Free Love in Times Square" event.
On February 14, 2013, couples are invited to renew their vows on the red steps of the Crossroads of the World. It doesn't matter if you're married for one year or 50, all married couples are invited to express their vows again. The ceremony will be broadcasted live on the American Eagle Times Square Digital Billboard in the heart of Times Square.

Couples can also check out the heart scultpure "Heartwalk." Brooklyn-based design firm Situ created this year's design which features a heart sculpture that was created from pieces of boardwalk that were destroyed in New York and New Jersey during Hurricane Sandy. Situ Studio took inspiration from the collective experience of Hurricane Sandy and the love that binds people together during difficult times. This will be on display until March 10.
If you're hanging out at Times Square late at night, watch as it turns into a digital art gallery. Every night, a dazzling visual display occurs on billboards and newsstands. For February, there is a special display called "I Promise to Love You" which incudes six written love messages made of neon. Every show begins at 11:57pm with a "countdown" that signals the start of the 3 minute nightly presentation.
