3 Killed In reality Show Crash: Helicopter Stunt Goes Wrong At Polsa Rosa Ranch, Los Angeles, CA [VIDEO]

For those who think that reality television really isn't reality, this will be a shock.

Three people were killed Sunday in a helicopter crash in northern Los Angeles County while filming for a reality TV show for Discovery Channel.

"The copter crashed at about 3:40 a.m. at the popular filming location of Polsa Rosa Ranch in the city of Acton," Los Angeles County Fire dispatcher Robert Diaz said, according to Associated Press.

The program, which is a military-theme program and is presently untitled, has not yet hit the Discovery Channel lineup yet.

"A production company was shooting a show for Discovery Channel when this tragic accident occurred," the station said in a statement. "We are all cooperating fully with authorities. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families," said Discovery Channel spokeswoman Laurie Goldberg to Associated Press.

The show's production company, Eyeworks USA, creator of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" also issued a statement.

"The company had been approved to use a helicopter for a reality TV show shooting at the ranch from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning," said Philip Sokoloski, a spokesman for FilmLA, which processes filming permits for location shootings in the Los Angeles region, reported Associated Press.

This isn't the first time at a tragedy has happened at Polsa Rose, as news.lalate.com stated, "the ranch last September was used for the Johnny Depp film "The Lone Ranger." But during filming of The Lone Ranger [sic], some died of a heart attack while swimming with scuba gear. The ranch is close to another ranch where Vic Morrow died filming the Twilight Zone in 1982."

Officials from the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash, which, according to an FAA spokesman, Allen Kenitzer "crashed under unknown circumstances," reported news.lalate.com.
