Traveling Solo: Could Be A Better Time Then Going With A Group

For all those single people who dream of traveling the world, but feel that being alone will hamper the experience or that being single will make taking a cruise a miserable time and a waste of money, think again.

Being a solo traveler allows one to meet new people without being held down by a group. One can then join the group and sightsee with them.

When single, going out to night spots can open the door for potential meet-and-greets without the hassle of being tied down to anyone or any group.

There is nothing worse than meeting someone new and then having to leave because a friend or group decides to do something else or head back home.

Plus, hopping from one country to the other gives the opportunity to meet new people with each stop, which won't happen if in a traveling group.

However, let's not forget, whether single or in a group, the most important issue with any type of travel is the price and with flight costs going up and up, and hotels and hostels increasing their rates, going solo could be a money saver.

Cruising sole is a little different because the scenery doesn't change, nor do the people, but going on singles only cruises could work.

Granted, the chance of meeting a soulmate are slim, but it isn't impossible.

There are theme cruises where travelers can immerse themselves in one of their favorite subjects and be certain that others on the cruise will share the passion.

There are also cruises for different age groups, like 21 and over, 30-40 and over 50.

"Many Carnival Cruise Lines ships have a Serenity Adult Retreat, an area for passengers ages 21 and older with whirlpools, bar service and "mellow music."

Disney Cruise Line ships have a Quiet Cove Pool for ages 18 and older with whirlpool spas or a hot tub (though this being Disney, there are games even at the grown-up pool)," according to New York Times.

The price is also good:

"The price of a singles cruise usually includes the cruise, a cabin, meals and exclusive group activities that range from the refined (cooking lessons and wine tastings) to the "never-post-photos-of-this-on-Facebook" variety (Jacuzzi parties and 1970s theme dances). If you want a good turnout, try traveling during Halloween. Singlescruise.com says itsHalloween Spectacular cruise is its largest (last year more than 600 people attended; this year it's a weeklong Caribbean cruise on Carnival Liberty, departing from Miami on Oct. 26 with private cabins starting from $1,402.27 and shared cabins from $783.27). But take heed: masks, capes and fangs can make evaluating potential lovers tricky," according to New York Times.

So, with this information and advice, booking that next solo euro trip or singles cruise should be effortless and meeting people while on the trip or cruise will be a cinch.
