Ever wonder why musician John Mayer's relationships never seem to work out?
Well, Mayer has the answer "I was a jerk," he said about the issue to CBS Sunday Morning.
If he was a "jerk," the list of girls that he has annoyed is long and illustrious:
"The singer has famously dated Jennifer Aniston, Minka Kelly, Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson, among others, and is currently tied to Katy Perry He has been known in the past for sharing overly explicit details about his former flames, including calling Simpson "sexual napalm" during an interview with Playboy," according to examiner.com.
However, he claims that he has turned over a new leaf and is finally free.
"It's very liberating when you finally realise it's impossible to make everyone like you. I wanted everybody to like me. I thought I was one shuck and jive away in every direction [sic]," according to CBS Sunday Morning.
Zap2It notes that the 35-year-old Mayer has been away from music for two years due to a vocal cord lesion and throat surgery. He says that the bad press he received after his questionable interviews was actually harder than having lost his voice. There are many who have thought Katy Perry was perhaps foolish for jumping into a relationship with him given his past relationship mistakes, but perhaps he truly is a changed man. Both fans and critics will be curious to see his interview, airing on Feb. 10, to see if his "I was just a jerk" mea culpa seems sincere.
