‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ Season 9: Eureka O’Hara Elimination Reaction Was Remarkable

Eureka O'Hara is the fan favorite of the current season of "RuPaul's Drag Race." Just when victory is within her reach, a great challenge faced the hardworking contender. She got an injury that caused her elimination from episode 5. The elimination shocked the fans of the show but O'Hara's reaction was amazing.

The elimination had an additional twist. She is still eligible to join season 10. The episode ended with a hanging question - will Eureka recover to appear on the next season? It is quite definite as she has displayed an enormous strength and positive attitude.

She was injured during the cheerleading challenge in episode 2. Her knee suffered while performing a cartwheel which left her on crutches for the entire episode 5. The doctor's revealed that she has a torn ACL.

Bustle reported that during the elimination round, everyone was expecting Cynthia Lee Fontaine or Farrah Moan to be called as the eliminated contestant. But almost all were shocked when it was O'Hara's name that was called.

It was then revealed that the reason behind it is for Eureka's well-being. "RuPaul" got in touch with the doctors and the strong contender to be the "Drag Queen" needs to heal. This was the justification for the surprise elimination of O'Hara.

In "UNTUCKED," Eureka's reaction and acceptance of her fate in the show was made known to the fans. She does not want her disappointment to dampen her spirit. She revealed, "I just feel sad because I finally got the break that I worked so many years, so hard, gave up so much of my life, to get. And to be halted for something that I can't control, it makes me bitter with destiny a little ... What can I do? Except move forward and be fabulous everywhere that I go."

She underwent a reconstructive surgery on her knee and the latest news is that she is fast recovering. In fact, she was back performing drag in Texas. This early, she has already confirmed that she will be back next season. The show is also looking forward to her return.

Huffington Post had a chance to interview O'Hara and she revealed how she felt about the whole thing. She said that it was quite depressing and disappointing that her body failed her at that moment but her faith helped her to move past the experience. She said that God gave her a path and she has to walk down on it. The challenge also made her stronger.

Her positive outlook on things was displayed when she said that she owed it to her fans and to the viewers that she has to learn something out of the happenings of the season. She said that she can have the chance to look back at her performance and improve it the next time she is on the show.
