Ray Lewis' Son: Two-time Super Bowl Winner's Son, Ray Lewis III To Play for Miami Hurricanes

For the son of a former Miami Hurricane, the recently retired two-time Super Bowl Champion, Ray Lewis, choosing to attend his father's alma mater was a no-brainer.

Lewis III sent his letter of intent early Wednesday morning and his father couldn't be more proud.

"I made a stand my junior year in college, the year he was born, that it was time for me to go to the league,'' said Ray Lewis, who helped the Ravens win the Super Bowl on Sunday in his last game. ''Now the year that he's walking into college I've made another stand that it's time for me to leave the league. Him being born has been a factor in entering the league and leaving the league," according to USA Today.

Lewis III was one of 11 players to sign on to play at Miami next year, which is shocking due to the on-going NCAA investigation regarding the school's athletic compliance practices.

'We're not just fighting the opposition,'' Miami coach Al Golden said in a televised interview Wednesday. ''We're fighting the term 'sanctions' all the time. So it's sanctions and the opposition versus us.'

As for the older Lewis, speculation is that he will go into the world of sports punditry, with ESPN reportedly already offering a multi-year contract, or into coaching.

"He knows he's always welcome. He has not expressed an interest in coaching. I have asked him, but he's not interested," said Baltimore Ravens' head coach, John Harbaugh. "Ray's iconic. He's going to be doing so many amazing powerful things. He's excited about those things."
