A cruise ship singer's mystery death is baffling investigators. Jackie Kastrinelis was found dead in her cabin on Regent Cruise Lines' Seven Seas Voyager.
The body of 24-year-old Kastrinelis was discovered after the ship docked in Darwin Harbour, Australia, on Sunday morning. The death of the University of Hartford graduate was being treated as a crime, but police now say her death was not suspicious. However they still don't know how she died, ABC reports.
Some told police that the Massachusetts woman hurt her head during rehearsals on Saturday night, so the doctor on board gave her some medication. The head injury or the medication may have had something to do with her death, but it could take weeks for the results of toxicology test and autopsy to be revealed.
Friends, family, and fellow University of Hartford peers are shocked over the singer's death.
"She was energetic, bubbly and friendly on camera, but that was also the case off camera," Ben Wilcox, a college friend, told ABC
Regent Cruise Lines released a statement to the Kastrinelis family about the death.
"The Regent Seven Seas Cruises' family is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Jackie," the luxury cruise line told ABC. "Our hearts and prayers go out to her family and loved ones."

Kastrinelis started working as a performer on cruise ships in 2011, a year after graduating from college. Friends say she was an immediate hit.
"She stood out a little bit brighter ... but you can say that about anybody," Michael Morris, the director of music for the University of Hartford School of Theatre division, told ABC News. "But about Jackie it is absolutely true."
The Kastrinelis family flew to Australia to meet Jackie's body.
