Xiaomi is called China's Apple simply because the company can make really competitive devices. We have previously reported that the "Xiaomi Mi 6" will be launched on April 11. It turns out, the correct date for the launch is April 19. The phone has some great specs for a much cheaper price compared to other high-end devices. Because of that, other users prefer the device than the more expensive smartphones.
The Geekbench benchmark test shows that the "Mi 6" beat the "Galaxy S8" with the single-core and multi-core tests. The "Mi 6" got a 2006 score, and 6438 multi-core score, while the "Galaxy S8" got 1916 and 6011 respectively.
According to Wccftech, the "Mi 6" is one of the most affordable Snapdragon 835-powered smartphones available. The specs of the phone can compete those of the "Galaxy S8," so it's no wonder that a lot are looking forward to the unveiling of the device.
The rumored memory of the device is said to be a 6GB of RAM but according to Phone Arena, this is already confirmed. A Geekbench test was revealed last week that the "Mi 6" indeed has a 6GB of RAM. Aside from that, a video teaser also confirmed said specs.
Reports say that upon release, the "Mi 6" will cost about $290, while the "Mi 6 Plus" will be about $435. This is a lot cheaper for a phone with Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU, and 4,000mAh battery. The listing shows that the "Mi 6" will have a 128GB of internal storage, but don't expect a microSD card slot since the company's flagship devices don't have one.
The devices will be 5.15 and 5.7-inch display respectively for the "Mi 6" and "Mi 6 Plus," and will run on Android Nougat out of the box. Travelers Today previously reported that the devices would have dual camera, but the listing does not show this. However, a leaked image show 5X Optical Zoom capabilities - meaning the "Mi 6" may really have a dual-camera set-up.
