A Florida man received a shopping cart DUI in Walmart. Timothy Carr was arrested for driving drunk inside Walmart after he took a joy ride on a motorized shopping cart.
According to WFLA, Carr decided to do a bit of shopping while intoxicated on Sunday night. He got in the shopping cart and helped himself to an alcoholic beverage that he took from inside the store. He then proceeded to known items off the shelves as he drove through the aisles.
He told the police that he was a transient and could not afford to pay for the alcohol. So the police arrested him on charges of disorderly intoxication and retail theft.
This wasn't the first time Carr was caught stealing. This would be his third charge for retail theft so this recent theft is a felony.
According to the Huffington Post, Carr isn't the only one to get arrested for driving a non-street vehicle while intoxicated. A Minnesota man named Joe Bruss was arrested for driving a Zamboni while intoxicated. He was trying to clean the ice for a pee-wee hockey game in May.
Even stranger, Kile Wygle was charged with a DUI for driving a motorized bar stool on a former lawn mower in 2009. He wound up crashing the device.
Recently a man was arrested for on another interesting DUI charge. He was actually driving a car, but it was his 17th DUI.
