Air Asia X's Child-Free"Quiet Zone" Gives Passengers an Option to Get Away From Those Noisy Kids

Had enough of the noisy kids on airplanes? Ever been seated behind a kid who can't stop talking or crying? What about sitting in front of a kid who constantly kicks the back of the chair? Maybe, it was even worse?

The answer to all of the above questions is yes, at least for regular airplane travelers.

If a change is desired, try Air Asia X (the long-haul arm of AirAsia), where for a small fee of $11-$35, one can be guaranteed peace and quiet in their "Quiet Zone."

"Beginning this week, under-12s are banned from the first seven rows of economy class on AirAsia X flights to China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Australia and Nepal," according to CNN.

But, in the enclosed area of a plane, doesn't noise travel?

George Hobica, founder of airfarewatchdoge.com, thinks so.

Speaking to NBC, Hobica states, "If you were just one row away from the smoking section, you still got the smoke, and you'll still hear the screams ... if a child has strong lungs."

AirAsia X's CEO Azran Osman-Rani, who described the new rollout as a "heavenly package for those who want peace of mind," according to CNN, wants people to know that this "Quiet Zone" will not banned children from flying, but rather give "options" to passengers. He also points out how AirAsia X will be adding three baby bassinets to the other two economy cabin sections.

However, for those who have had enough of the intense baby noises, though being away won't mute the noise completely, the distance will help in getting some (I'm paying for this flight, so is getting a bit of peace and quiet too much to ask for?) rest & recuperation.

"AirAsia X's competitor, Malaysia Airlines, started flying last year with child-free first class cabins as well as a child-free upper deck economy section on its A380 service," according to CNN.

Think that trying the "Quiet Zone" isn't worth the money?

Just remember this:

Asking for a pillow to help keep the noise away will now cost a fee and forget the blanket to feel comfortable, that also comes with a fee.

With that being said, AirAsia X is hoping that one will decide to pay a little more now than risk getting extremely annoyed later.
