Australian Rapper Swims Away Into The Ocean To Avoid $450 Bill At A Seafood Restaurant

A rapper from Australia who goes by the screen name 2pec incurred a large bill after ordering too much food at a seafood restaurant. Being unable to pay, the man jumped into the ocean and attempted to swim away to avoid paying.

BBC reported that local officials on jet skis tried to chase the 33-year-old rapper, who later on stated that he left the restaurant early without paying because he was helping someone give birth at a beach. Peck's bill amounted to about $450 (A$600, £360).

Following the incident at Omeros Bros, which was located at the Surfers Paradise, the man went to court on Monday morning to face the charges pressed against him. 2pec, whose real name is Terry Peck, was charged with assault and theft.

According to ABC news, it was stated that the aspiring rapper ordered several beers, a baby octopus, two lobsters and 17 oyster shooters at the Omero Bros restaurant. "Oh God! By himself?" was the reaction of magistrate Joan White upon granting him bail.

In an attempt to defend himself, Peck said that the restaurant should be the one saying sorry to him since the oyster had oyster shell in it and that the food was overpriced. He also added that the lobsters were overcooked as well.

However, in response to the rapper's statements, Mark Hunnybun, a representative from the restaurant, said, "We cook our lobsters perfectly here—we pride ourselves on cooking our lobsters perfectly."

Peck was ordered by the court not to set foot in the restaurant and that he must stay at his Labrador address for the time being while the case is still ongoing. It was Halley Robertson who handled Peck's case who later on said that her client has an alcohol problem. The case will resume at court on May 4.
