The season finale of "Homeland" Season 6 will be aired tonight, and the plot is kept under wraps. However, showrunner Alex Gansa teased what the focus of the finale will be.
According to Deadline, when Gansa was asked about the conclusion of "Homeland" Season 6, he said that first and foremost, Peter Quinn and Carrie Mathison's relationship should be looked into. "That was the first dramatic scene of this season, Carrie and Quinn together in that VA hospital. In large part, that has functioned as the emotional center of Season 6." He also added that fans can expect for their relationship to "come to some head" in the finale.
Gansa said that another big part of the last episode will be about Saul Berenson and where he fits in. He said that Berenson has served as the moral conscience of the CIA, and the finale will show how it will come to terms with his own agency, considering its current dilemma.
TV Line reported that the crime thriller series still has a lot of unresolved issues, but at least we know that Keane is now officially the President. A photo from the finale shows Carrie and Keane talking in the White House. A video teaser also showed Carrie and Keane in an elevator, and something clearly seems amiss. When the door opened, a man points a gun in Carrie's face. It's going to be a thrilling finale, that's for sure.
Now fans don't have to worry about "Homeland" Season 7 because the series was renewed back in August. Even a Season 8 is already guaranteed. Carrie has already saved a lot of countries, including Germany, the Middle East, and then now, she's saving New York. No word has been released about Season 7 yet, but tonight's finale is expected to shed some clue as to what the next plot will be.
