Disney's hit teen comedy series "That's So Raven" is finally getting another spin-off series after it ended its run nearly a decade ago. With a full season underway "Raven's Home" is expected to keep the fans nostalgic.
Disney has announced the actors that will form the cast. Disney revealed that the title role will be played by the original actor in "Raven's Home." Raven Symoné will be reprising her role together with her best friend, the returning star Anneliese Van Der Pol as Chelsea.
According to Out, they will be following their teenage antics in "That's So Raven," and will be now be playing the role of single divorcees living together with their kids. The kids who will make the show interesting are Raven's 11-year old twins, Nia and Booker.
Nia is played by Navia Robinson who previously worked on both "Being Mary Jane" and "The Vampire Diaries." Booker will be Issac Ryan Brown who is best known on Black-ish as Young Dre.
As for Chelsea, her 9-year old son Levi will be played by Jason Maybaum who previously guest-starred in "Workaholics" and "Superstore." According to MTV, Van Der Pol described her TV son to be a "star in the making." Maybaum's career will be under close scrutiny from now on.
Another character that will add to the rowdiness of the bunch is Tess, Nia's best friend. She will be played by another achiever Skylar Katz who wowed judges of "America's Got Talent" with her impressive rap skills. She will be the Chelsea to Nia's Raven of the unusual and quirky family.
"That's So Raven" made an impressive record when it premiered in 2003. It was nominated and eventually won the NAACP awards and two Kid's Choice Awards for the show.
"That's So Raven" will commence production this month in Los Angeles. The premiere episode will air later this year on Disney Channel.
