Boeing, JetBlue Team Up For A Startup About Future Airline Travel

Electric-aircraft startup Zunum Aero recently got great news: leading airline industry companies Boeing and JetBlue have made a valuable monetary investment to the company, therefore furthering Zunum Aero's efforts to make its project closer to reality. Zunum Aero is founded by CEO Ashish Kumar.

The whole concept of Zunum Aero is futuristic air travel. Right now, unless you own a private jet, getting onto an airplane is a messy and long affair, with long hours spent at security checkpoints, check-in areas, and getting onboard a noisy aircraft that doesn't tend to go even when you're on the air. Zunum Aero wants to change all that.

That's why Kumar is especially excited with the support his startup got from JetBlue and Boeing. The first models of its aircraft aren't scheduled to grace the skies in the next decade, but when they do, they will completely change the affair of air travel.

In a statement made by JetBlue Technology Ventures' Bonny Simi through Business Insider, he said: "At JetBlue Technology Ventures, our goal is to be part of a disruptive force rather than the one being disrupted, and we seek new technologies that look to change the game." He added that the company's commitment to innovation in sustainable travel makes it believe in what Zunum is trying to achieve with its quiet, environmentally friendly aircraft.

According to Travel Pulse, one of the features Zunum Aero is excited to share with the rest of the world is its greener method of air traveling. When in flight, the aircrafts are said to release 80 percent lower emissions than a normal aircraft.

The Zunum Aero is also designed to fly in regional airports, which is really convenient for most passengers. The amount of time one has to spend in airport lines will decrease significantly, and because the aircraft is smaller, passengers will enjoy a more intimate travel setting.
