'The Bachelorette' Goes To Hilton Head: What You Need To Know About The Location

Located on the coast of South Carolina, Hilton Head is the perfect destination for epicureans looking for a short getaway. The vibe in this foot-shaped island is relaxing, an ideal spot to get away from the hubbub of urban life.

Recently, the popular reality TV show "The Bachelorette" filmed some of their episodes in Hilton Head. The new season is still set to air on May 22, so Hilton Head residents who are fans of the show got the chance for a little sneak peeks at what to expect in the new upcoming episodes.

According to The State, around 100 locals were even cast as extras in the show. Most of the filming locations revolved around Bluffton and around the island, with Rachel Lindsay and her other suitors out and about.

On March 30, Travel Pulse reported that the "The Bachelorette" gang went to the Oyster Shell Park in Bluffton for an event called Shuckin' and Shaggin', a Lowcountry tradition. The Bluffton Oyster Factory is located nearby, giving visitors a chance to see how oysters are farmed fresh out of the water.

The episode in Oyster Shell Park will most likely show how Rachel and her date try their best to participate in the Shuckin' and Shaggin' event, and granted, the place is romantic and ideal for a date. Guests can also rent a kayak in the park and gorge on some of the most succulent seafood ever.

On the filming crew's second day, they visited Shelter Cove Marina, another frequently visited place on the island. Apparently, Rachel's suitors all participated in the first ever "The Bachelorette Spelling Bee" in the cove, and although the production was pretty uptight in security, some details leaked out.

The Shelter Cove community is called a "hidden gem" by the locals. According to their website, Shelter Cove consist of the Shelter Cove Plaza, Shelter Cove Harbour, and many other shops and restaurants the place is known for.

Not only will we look forward to "The Bachelorette's" new season, it's also a chance to highlight Hilton Head's beauty, something we will see in May when the new season airs its first episode. The fans of the show should definitely mark the date May 22.
