A JetBlue flight had to make an emergency landing because a woman was mad that a man paid less money for the same seat.
The plane heading from New York's JFK to San Diego had to land in Denver because the passenger became unruly when a man was moved to a seat that she paid more for. The woman was sitting in JetBlue's "Even More Space" section which costs $65 extra each way from New York to San Diego, according to USA Today.
A man who was sitting in a regular seat which cost less was moved because the TV at his seat wasn't working. According to ABC 7, the woman became very angry that the man didn't pay as much as she did for the seat, so she started to fight with the flight crew.
The incident became so intense that a federal air marshal had to step in and the flight was forced to land in Denver because the woman would not calm down.
There were 137 passengers on board Flight 185 and many of them recorded the incident on cell phone cameras.
JetBlue confirmed that the flight was diverted "to Denver due to an unruly customer onboard," according to USA Today, but the airline wouldn't go into details about the passenger due to passenger privacy rules.
"The aircraft landed safely at Denver International Airport at 7:15 p.m. local where the customer was met by local enforcement officers," JetBlue said.
According to the Examiner, "The woman was pulling her carry-on luggage with her. Police radio traffic said she is 42 years old and was seated in the second row of the plane."
According to JetBlue, no charges have been filed as it is considered to be a customer service issue.
This isn't the first time a flight made an emergency landing for a silly reason. In September, a Swiss Airlines plane made an emergency landing because two men had a fight over one of them reclining his seat.
