Sony's latest flagship, the "Xperia XZ Premium" is expected to have great features, including the first smartphone that can offer up to 1 Gbps of download speed. The device is already available for pre-order in the U.K. and is expected to come out either in May or June.
According to a report from Mirror, Sony's flagship will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which makes it the first smartphone to reach the "Gigabit-Class LTE." This means the device can reach download speeds in the Gigabit level, which is higher than the current Mbps reach of most devices.
The report said that it's possible for the Sony "Xperia XZ Premium" to achieve this because of the integrated Snapdragon X16 LTE modem. The modem is said to be able to provide "fiber optic speeds on the go."
Aside from faster download speeds, the Snapdragon 835 also allows the smartphone to be able to play games that are graphic intensive. And since it's a Sony device, it also works with the PlayStation 4, allowing players to play the games in their console via the mobile device.
Playing games on the device won't be a problem as the "Xperia XZ Premium" boasts a 5.5-inch screen display that is based on Sony's Bravia TV technology. The report said that this makes the smartphone the first in the world to feature 4K HDR display.
Sony even partnered with Amazon Prime Video to be able to show off this amazing feature by offering a selection of 4K HDR content to customers of "Xperia XZ Prime." The content will also include Amazon Original series.
As for when the device would be available, GSMArena is expecting the smartphone to hit the shelves by the end of May or in the beginning of June. The device can already be pre-ordered in the U.K. for £640, or close to $800.
Fans in the Netherlands will be able to pre-order the device starting May 1. The smartphone is said to be available in two colors, Deepsea Black, and Luminous Chrome. Check out a hands-on experience with the Sony "Xperia XZ Premium" in the video below.
