Season 1 of HBO's hit science fiction western thriller "Westworld" ended just over three months ago, but already, fans have a lot of speculations as to how Season 2 would go. The series' fan base is so engaged that they came up with a theory about the upcoming season. Hence, the creators said they have to change the plot.
Creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy along with Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton, Ed Harris, James Marsden and Jimmi Simpson recently graced the 34th annual Paleyfest, Deadline said. When asked about updates regarding "Westworld" Season 2, the creators were hesitant to give answers, but they said they are writing now.
Nolan said that they are terribly excited about what they are writing. He also said that they had to change something because fans already figured out the plot. He added that fans on Reddit have already figured out the third episode twist, so they are changing that right now. He added that they can't complain when fans are very engaged and that it's very gratifying.
However, The Hollywood Reporter said that Nolan expresses frustration with fans who figured out the big twists of Season 1, and some even blogged about it. He encouraged fans to avoid spoiling the plots online. "If you want to be surprised, you have to censor yourself from the internet," he added.
The series experienced some delays during Season 1. It was originally set to debut in 2015. To avoid production delay for "Westworld" Season 2, the show's creators said that they are going to write all 10 episodes before production begins, but they declined to say as to when production would actually begin.
For those who are waiting for Ed Harris to wear a Samurai suit, that won't happen. Harris said that he does not want to be naked and does not want to wear a Samurai suit either. Harris said that he is a Man in Black, not a Man in a samurai suit. "Samurais don't wear hats!" he said. "Westworld" Season 2 is set to premiere in 2018.
