128GB iPad May Be Added to Current Apple iPad Products in 2013

Don't have enough space on your iPad? Apple is supposedly developing a 128GB iPad.

According to 9to5Mac, Apple has a 128GB iPad in the works. The extra space would be available on the current fourth-generation iPad with Retina display, meaning the new iPad won't have a new design. It will be available in both black and white and will come in either the WiFi-only or WiFi and cellular versions.

This would be the first Apple device to have more than 64GB of space. Other Apple products typically come with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.

It is not definite that this device will be released, but 9to5Mac has some evidence that points to it being likely. They have SKU numbers for the new products which reads P101 Ultimate A-USA. The P101 stands for the WiFi model and 16GB, 32GB and 64GB are typically called Good, Better, and Best respectively, which means the 128GB iPad could be the "Ultimate" iPad mentioned in the SKU.

There is also a price estimate for the product. They said the Wifi-only model would cost $799 and the cellular-capable model would cost $929, making if the priciest iPad to date.

The iPads will be available for single purchase and in 10-pack deals to educational institutions. However it is possible that this upgraded iPad will only be available to government agencies, retail, or for other internal uses.

This isn't the only update that Apple may be working on. There are rumors swirling that the next iPhone will have fingerprint detection technology.
