'UK Disneyland': Paramount Theme Park To Open In 2022

London Paramount is planning to open a world-class "UK Disneyland" entertainment resort on the Swanscombe Peninsula in North Kent in 2022. The Paramount theme park is considered to be the first of its kind in the U.K. especially when it's preparing to have over 50 rides and attractions based on the films the company has produced.

London Paramount says it will feature attractions conducive to parents, children, and thrill-seekers. The "heart" of the resort will be an indoor, covered and open-air experience that will host a couple of exhibitions and music events. Every day, during afternoons, there will be a "Paramount and Friends Carnival," where costumed people and themed rides take place.

"We are planning to follow this every evening with a spectacular show celebrating the works of Paramount Pictures and our other content partners," Paramount said in its website. During the evenings, a West End production will take place around the park where it could show Paramount films, BBC and Aardman productions and live concerts and performances with 2,000-seat visitors.

Moreover, it will have a range of hotels, food establishments, retail shops, nightclubs, and an art-house style cinema. Also, it will house one of the largest indoor water parks in Europe. Notably, the Paramount theme park will provide environmental protection and improvement, and wildlife habitat creation by the River Thames.

The park is expected to garner 40,000 visitors per day and generate employment of up to 3,000 jobs. A day's ticket will cost £57 once it opens in 2022.

Construction and plans for the park will commence once the company receives a go-signal from the government. If it turns out well, construction will start in 2019.

Paramount is the film studio behind the movies such as Titanic, Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Forrest Gump, Iron Man, and How to Train Your Dragon.
