Microsoft ‘Surface Pro 5’ Features Two Versions: One With AMD Ryzen Processor, The Other With The Intel Kaby Lake

There are rumors and reports claiming that AMD's latest Ryzen processor chips will be powering the Microsoft "Surface Pro 5," which is expected to launch this spring. But not all will be using that processor as others are said to use Intel's latest processor, the Kaby Lake.

According to Droid Report, the initial rumor was for Microsoft to use Intel's 7th-generation Kaby Lake processors. But a new rumor has surfaced that the 2-in-1 hybrid will be using AMD's latest Ryzen processors and this rumor came about due to a teaser of the movie "Alien: Covenant."

The report said that the teaser showed a device that looks like the "Surface Pro" being used by a scientist. Then a bit later a chip with the AMD logo was embedded on Walter (Michael Fassbender).

But the rumor for the Microsoft "Surface Pro 5" doesn't stop there, as there's a new speculation that Microsoft plans to use both AMD's latest Ryzen processors and Intel's Kaby Lake. The rumor started after a photo from Microsoft's building 88 was leaked.

The photo hinted that Microsoft is planning to launch two versions of the "Surface Pro 5." If Microsoft is serious about using the AMD Ryzen to power its latest "Surface Pro" offering, it will be following what Apple is planning with the MacBook Pro 2017, according to a report from MobiPicker.

But it's not only AMD's latest Ryzen processor that will be making its way into the Microsoft "Surface Pro 5" as it looks like the latest Windows 10 Creator Update will also be part of it. The device is also expected to have a 4K display, a USB Type-C slot, and a magnetic stylus.

And with an anticipated launch in spring of 2017, people will soon get a clearer idea of what the specs and features of the Microsoft "Surface Pro 5" will be. Check out more information about Microsoft's latest upcoming device in the video below.
