'The Blacklist: Redemption' Spoilers: Ryan Eggold Talks About Surprising Twist

There is more to Scottie than what was shown in the first few episodes of "Blacklist: Redemption." While the spinoff surprised fans by stating right away that Susan Scott "Scottie" Hargrave was the mother of Tom Keen, the latest episode showed a new twist that left viewers and Tom reeling.

Entertainment Weekly reports that the revelation had something to do with the latest mission. Tom was sent to a place that resembles Pleasantville. The American small town is filled with Russian operatives who are receiving training in order to be fully immersed in their American life. The Russians are also undergoing plastic surgery in order to replace the marks.

What was surprising was that Howard, at the end of the episode, shared with Tom that he believes that Scottie is an operative. He thinks that the present Scottie is actually a Russian operative, and the real one was killed a long time ago, shortly after their child disappeared.

Ryan Eggold, who plays Tom, shared in an interview that his character is now caught in the middle. He might believe his father more at the moment. He believes that Tom will now go through a lot just to uncover the truth about the surprising revelation.

Scottie still does not know that her son disappeared a long time ago is right there with her at work. Tom is understandably freaking out now that Scottie is continuing her husband's death and the fact that Howard was looking for Christopher shortly before he faked his death.

Meanwhile, TV Fanatic reports that the next episode of "Blacklist: Redemption" entitled "Operation: Davenport" deals with the team hunting down terrorists who escaped from a prison in Manhattan. Scottie is still continuing her investigation about Christopher while Howard might be sending Tom on a wild goose chase.
