A baby was flung from a car in Russia and miraculously escaped with only minor injuries. The shocking video was caught on tape. The one-year-old girl was in a Mitsubishi and was traveling with her parents in Russia when the car went out of control on an icy road.
Sky News reported that the car " skidded backwards and crashed into traffic on the opposite side of the road, sending the little girl flying out of the window into the middle of the carriageway."
A lorry driver who was driving in the other direction saw the child crawling on the road and swerved his truck, only missing her by just a few inches. Her parents escaped from the car and picked up their child from the road.
The Clarion Ledger reported that the baby landed face first on the pavement and that a Russian news site reported that the driver was at fault for not properly placing the child in a car seat. They reported that the baby was stashed "like a doll" under the back windshield on a shelf.
The one-year-old suffered cuts and bruises on her face and lips and was taken to the hospital, reported The Clarion Ledger. The baby had reportedly recently been adopted by the family, reported the Russian news service, HGV.
The Daily Mail reported a similar incident in Dorchestor, England when a toddler managed to unfasten his seat belt and was flung onto a road during rush hour. The toddler who was two years old was thrown onto the street as the seat became loose and the door of the car flew open.
The mother was driving along A352 IN West Stafford, Dorset in a Renault Clio when the incident happened around 5 p.m.
The Daily Mail reported that Dorset Police said he somehow unfastened the seat belt and was lucky that his injuries were mild. The boy was kept overnight at Dorset County Hospital.
"A car was going round a roundabout when the car door flew open and a child seat flew out on to the road," a police spokesperson said to The Daily Mail. "It appears during the journey the child managed to undo the seat belt allowing the seat to come loose. As the car negotiated the roundabout the child attached to the seat belt was ejected in to the road."
