Lone Star College Texas Shooting: At Least Three Injured in College Shooting [VIDEO]

A shooting at Lone Star College near Houston, Texas has been reported. TIME reported that the school has gone on lockdown at the North Harris campus where a shooter was reported.

The schools' website said "A couple of armed suspects reported.; injuries reported." The New York Daily News reported that there have been at least two people injured in the shooting. CNN reported three people were injured and a fourth person suffered a heart attack.

Reportedly three people including the gunman were injured in a shooting, said school spokesman Jed Young to CNN. There was apparently a second gunman on the loose as well, but he is not believed to be on campus, Young said to CNN.

CNN reported that the shooting occurred at the campus library. Dozens of officers swarmed around Lone Star College at approximately 12:30 p.m. after 911 calls were made.

"Witnesses say a man in a red shirt fired off several shots in a central area of the campus near the library and a cafeteria filled with people studying and eating lunch," reported NY Daily News. Two men were reportedly having an argument before the shots went off.

The New York Daily News reported that two victims with multiple gunshots were transported to a hospital nearby and rushed into surgery. A man was also taken into custody.

The gunshots prompted everyone at the school to run for cover. Students hid and professors locked their classroom doors.

Cody Harris, 20, said to the Associated Press that he was in a classroom when a handful of other students waiting for his class to start when he heard eight shots. He said that the students looked at each other and said, "I guess we should get out of here," and they fled the room. "I was just worried about getting out," Harris said to The AP. "I called my grandmother and asked her to pick me up."

Daniel Flores, 19, said to the AP that he was in a tutoring lab doing homework when he heard shots. "I didn't think they were shots," he said to the AP. "It sounded like someone was kicking a door."

He said the approximately 60 people that were in the lab started to run out of the room once they realized what the noise was and went to a student service center. Authorities kept them there for approximately a half hour before letting them go, reported the AP.

ABC News reported that police were on the search for a man who is approximately 6-foot-2 and wearing an Atlanta Falcon's cap.

There are 90,000 people in the Lone Star College System which include six different college campuses. An update at 2:30 p.m. on the school's website says, "The LSC-North Harris campus has been evacuated and is now closed for the remainder of the day. Please continue to monitor the Lonestar.edu website for additional information on campus operations."

The shooting comes only a month after the Sandy Hook elementary school massacre in Newtown, Connecticut that left 20 students and six staff members tragically killed.
