Many twists and turns happened in the midseason finale of "Shadowhunters." Valentine revealed the shocking truth to Jace and Magnus and Alec confessed as well.
Access Hollywood recapped the latest episode of "Shadowhunters" called "By the Light of Dawn." By the end of the episode, several big twists happened. Aside from Alec and Magnus exchanging "I love yous," Valentine has also been captured. The Soul Sword has also been stolen by a still unknown thief, but the biggest event in the midseason finale is that Valentine finally told Jace that he does not have demon blood in him and that he is not, in fact, Valentine's son nor Clary's brother.
Matt Hastings, producer and director revealed a little more about what fans of the show can expect when it returns this June. Many viewers are wondering why Jace did not tell Clary right away about the news that they are not siblings. Hastings explains that Jace is not only a warrior but a gentleman as well. When he saw the happiness of Simon and Clary when the former was able to walk under the sun, he did not want to intrude on their private moment of joy.
Simon will also get some fair amount of screen time in the next half of the season. His new ability will not make him very popular among the "down worlders" after all.
One of the mysteries for the latter part of the season is who was holding the Soul Sword at the end of the midseason finale. TV Line speculates that more than likely it will be Sebastian Valentine, who will finally make an appearance. And though there is no confirmation, there is no doubt that his coming into the next episodes will be significant.
