Nokia has been making a comeback in the phone market, with its launch of the "Nokia 6" and the relaunch of the 3310. But they're not yet done as rumors of a "Nokia 8" flagship that's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 with Adreno 540 will launch this June.
Trusted Reports reveals that a Chinese blog called Anzhuo said that the company is planning to come out with two flagship devices this June. The two device will sport the latest chipset from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 835.
The two rumored flagship will be identical, except for their screen sizes, with the other one being larger, similar to Apple's Plus model offerings. The two smartphones are said to be sporting an all-metal design and a dual camera configuration.
The report said that, though the blog didn't mention where they got the report about Nokia's new flagship phones, they're not discounting the possibility. This is due to the fact that the latest models Nokia had launched are not considered flagship devices, so it's possible they will come out with their own flagship.
Forbes was able to provide more details about the rumored specifications of the Nokia 8. Talks about its launch started early this year. The new flagship is said to include features such as a 5.7-inch QHD screen, support for a microSD card and a camera that has at least 23-megapixels. The new flagship is also expected to be available in either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage and 4GB or 6GB of RAM.
As stated above, the Nokia 8 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's latest chipset, which is expected to be used by almost all of the high-end Android devices. Forbes also said that the Snapdragon 835 is also the reason for the June launch of the device instead of an earlier release.
Since the chipset will be a popular choice for high-end devices, the supplies for the chipset are likely to run thin. And Nokia is probably not on the top of Qualcomm's priority list, as that belongs to Samsung, who is said to use the chipset for the "Galaxy S8."
