There's a big possibility that "Screen Queens" Season 3 won't be happening, considering some of its main casts have already moved on to different projects. However, the future of the show is still not certain, at least until May, during Fox's presentation.
According to a report from TVLine, Lea Michele is set to star in ABC's comedy pilot alongside Brandon Michael Hall. The yet untitled sitcom is about a struggling hip-hop artist (played by Hall) who runs for mayor to use the election to promote his mixtape but ended up winning the office.
Michele's casting in the show means that her time as Hester in "Scream Queens" has come to an end. And with the show not yet being renewed for season 3, due to its low ratings, it's likely to be renewed now, given Michele has moved on to a different project.
But it's not only Michele who has left the TV series, as Deadline reports that Keke Palmer has already joined the spy drama series "Berlin Station" for season 2 as a regular cast. She will be playing the newest and youngest case officer assigned to the Berlin Station, April Lewis.
The filming for the series begins next month, which means Palmer's character Zayday also won't be returning for "Scream Queen" Season 3. Though signs are pointing to the series not being renewed, it's still too early to tell at this point.
CarterMatt reports that Fox has yet to make an announcement or a comment about the show's future, so there's still no guarantee that it won't be renewed. Everything will be clearer on May, when they hold their upfront presentation.
As for Palmer, it's possible that she can bounce between two shows. And as TVLine noted about Michele's casting, the show was designed as an anthology with a rotating ensemble.
The show can move forward even if certain characters don't return, so even if Michele and Palmer are gone, it's still possible to continue the show. Check out the ending scene of "Scream Queen" Season 2 in the video below.
