Stacie Halas, 32, was fired from her job teaching middle school after it became known that she had appeared in pornography under the name "Tiffany Six." Her appeal to get her job back, was lost her lawyer told the Associated Press on Tuesday.
In the appeal a three judge panel all decided that she was unfit to teach in the classroom. She was fired in April from her job as a science teacher at Haydock Intermediate School in Oxnard California after students and teachers found videos of her online in porn.
"Although (Halas') pornography career has concluded, the ongoing availability of her pornographic materials on the Internet will continue to impede her from being an effective teacher and respected colleague," Judge Julie Cabos-Owen wrote in a decision by the Commission on Professional Competence, reported the AP.
Richard Schwab, Halas' lawyer said on Tuesday to the AP that Halas wanted to be honest about her past but was embarrassed."Miss Halas is more than just an individual fighting for her job as a teacher," he said to the AP. "I think she's representative of a lot of people who may have a past that may not involve anything illegal or anything that hurts anybody."
The Daily Mail reported that the school's officials said they did not know Halas had been in porn in the past unitl April and that they should have been notified from the outset along with the rest of her history of employment.
Oxnard School spokesman Tom DeLapp said to The Daily Mail, "You lie to your boss, that's grounds for dismissal. The fact that she listed being a lifeguard and being at Subway sandwich but chose to eliminate the fact that she was in the porn industry is very telling."
