‘Fear The Walking Dead' Season 3 Release Date Likely To Be This June, Synopsis Shows Character Attempting To Rebuild Family

"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 3 release date is likely set for June, considering AMC said the show will be returning "this summer." This season will also be meaningful for the main cast, as they'll be trying to establish a new society and rebuild their families.

According to a report from the Den of Geek, season 3 of the hit series will be having 16 episodes. And even with a premiere for May or June, the hit series will still have plenty of time to finish all episodes before "The Walking Dead" Season 8 returns on October.

The report adds that all of the regular cast members will be returning for season 3 and AMC also added Emma Caulfield, an alum of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," to the show. It is unknown, though, what her role will be and if she will be a regular or just a guest star.

AMC also revealed what the synopsis is for season 3 of the TV series and it shows the characters will be needing to fix some family issues. Kim Dickens' Madison has reconnected with her apocalyptic partner Travis (Cliff Curtis), while Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) is still trying to deal with her murder of Andres.

Meanwhile, her son Nicky (Frank Dillane) got Luciana (Danay Garcia) and him ambushed by an American militia group. They were able to escape, though, but that was his first action as a leader and he no longer feels immortal.

Other characters will also be dealing with their personal issues and agenda, starting with Ofelia (Mercedes Mason), who is captured, and must try to use the savagery of her father to try and survive. Strand (Colman Domingo), on the other hand, has his sights set on trying to harness the world's new currency as he recovers emotionally and physically.

Speaking of Domingo, in an interview with Syfy Wire, he said when his agent asked him to audition for the role, he didn't understand the genre and feels he wouldn't be chosen. But the script blew him off, he said it "was so well-written."

He also said that reading the script didn't tell him if Strand is a good guy or a villain. Fans, though, will likely get a better look as "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3 commences, especially since AMC already revealed what he will be up to.

Syfy Wire said "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 3 will return to AMC in June. Check out the ending scene of "Fear the Walking Dead" Season 2 in the video below.
