Woman Gives Birth on Armavia Airline Flight & Names Daughter After Flight Attendant

One baby just couldn't wait to be born. A woman gave birth on a plane and named her daughter after a flight attendant who helped her with the delivery.

Armina Babayan, 31, was on an Armavia airline flight from Siberia when she started to go into labor on board. Flight attendant Asmik Gevondyan noriced the woman going into labor and she quickly organized an on-board delivery with her coworkers.

"All of our crew helped to deliver the baby," Gevondyan told the Associated Press.

Babayan claimed to be six and a half months pregnant when she boarded the plane. Despite being born on a plane , the baby girl was born healthy two hours before the flight landed in the Armenian capital of Yerevan.

According to Armenian television, the woman named her daughter Asmik after the flight attendant who helped with the delivery.

Although rare, this isn't the first time a baby was born on a plane. In August, a woman have birth on an Emirates flight from Dubai to Manila. She named her new son EK after the Emirated flight code.

Another baby boy was born on a Delta flight from Atlanta to Africa in April. In 2011 two other baby boys were boyn on a Philippine Airlines flight and a Alitatlia flight.
