Jodie Foster came out to the world in 2007, when she referred to her partner at a Women in Entertainment breakfast, where she was giving a speech. Foster was with Partner Cydney Bernard for 14 years in 2007 and during her Golden Globe Awards speech where she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award on Sunday Jan. 13 she spoke about her ex girlfriend once again.
In her emotional speech she thanked her ex partner her mother and her two sons and basically came out of the closet for the first time in public.
Foster reportedly met Bernard who is a producer on the set of the movie, "Sommersby" in 1993, where Bernard was working as a production coordinator.
In Foster's speech she mentioned that she is single, which one can assume means that she and Bernard have split. The two have two children together, Charles Bernard Foster and Kit Bernard Foster.
Gawker reported that Foster said during her speech that she had a a "sudden urge to say something that I've never really been able to air in public...a declaration that I'm a little nervous about. I am single."
She then said that she already did her coming out "about a thousand years ago, back in the Stone Age."
Her ex girlfriend Bernard's other works including working in production on "The L Word," L.A. Story," "The Client," "Bean" and "Off the Map."
The Telegraph reported that Foster and Bernard split in 2008 just five months after she publically acknowledged Bernard during her awards ceremony speech.
