The 2013 Oscar Buzz is widespread, with Thursday Jan. 10's Academy Award nomination announcements. With the Oscar ceremony taking place on Feb. 24. Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone presented the 2013 Oscar nominees early Thursday.
This years nominees included 12 Academy Award nominations for "Lincoln" about our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln. Included is Steven Spielberg for best director and Daniel Day-Lewis for best actor.
"Life of Pi" by director Ang Lee followed with 11 academy award nominations and both "Silver Linings Playbook" and "Les Miserables" had eight nominations east.
Robert De Niro got a best supporting actor nomination for "Silver Linings Playbook." He has been nominated seven times and won two academy awards for "The Godfather Part II" and "Raging Bull."
"I am very pleased that the academy has chosen to honor the many individuals who were a part of 'Silver Linings Playbook,' " De Niro said in a statement according to CNN.
8-year-old Quvenzhane Wallis who stars in "Beast of the Southern Wild" received a best actresss nomination and the movie received three others, best director, best picture and best adapted screenplay.
