'Pokemon Go' Reached A New Milestone; Niantic To Add Ultra Rare Pokemon Soon; Three Major Updates Inbound

"Pokemon Go" has made another record-breaking feat. John Hanke announced they would be releasing three major updates coming this year including the addition of Ultra Rare Pokemon.

During the Google Developer Day, Niantic announced that "Pokemon Go" has reached a new breakthrough. The company disclosed that the augmented reality game has recorded 650 Million downloads in less than a year since its official launch. In addition, Niantic revealed that as part of their celebration for the latest breakthrough, they would release a series of major updates throughout the year.

According to Silph Road, Niantic Labs CEO John Hanke said that players should expect three major "Pokemon Go" updates in 2017. He, however, did not provide further details about what the upcoming updates are about. Most players are looking forward that among these would be the "Pokemon Go" Gen 2 Ultra Rare Pokemon.

Another update that fans are looking forward to is the release of the Legendary Pokemon. Although there have been previous reports about the release of these Pokemon, nothing has been officially confirmed until now. There were also reports about the capture of the very first Legendary Pokemon but it has remained vague and unclear until now.

Apart from those highly anticipated features, the upcoming "Pokemon Go" update has received heaps of theories and predictions. One of this is the Trading feature, which Niantic recently cleared that it is not a priority at present. Another feature predicted to be included in the major update is the PvP battle features.

The Trading and PvP are essential features in the franchise as they are present to all previous Pokemon games. In addition, these features would certainly bring massive impact to "Pokemon Go." Meanwhile, the Pokemon Day Event in "Pokemon Go" has been launched where players are to catch the exclusive Party-Hat Pikachu. The event will run until March 6 at 1 PM PST, reported BGR.
