‘Get Out’: The Horror Movie That Did Well With The Critics

"Get Out" has an amazing performance not just in earnings but also with the critics. Unbelievably, it has 100% approval ratings with Rotten Tomatoes. This rating is seldom reached by any other film, much more a horror film.

On its first weekend, the film topped with "The LEGO Batman Movie," "John Wick 2," and "Fifty Shades Darker" tailing behind according to Seattle Times. These three films made good in the box office but when 'Get Out" was released these three films took the lesser spots.

The Jordan Peele movie did not only hit its target, it surpassed projections for its first week. In the top 20 movies list the horror-comedy movie got the highest spot with $ 33 million for one week.

Movie Web reported that in recent years, horror movies are in demand. "Lights Out," "Don't Breathe," and "It Follows" have been successful movies financially. However, they all fall short of positive reviews. "Get Out" is an exception.

100% approval ratings from Rotten Tomatoes have been achieved by classic or well-liked films but not of a horror film.

The Key & Peele director who is known for his comedic creativity is unbelievably good in "Get Out." His touch in this movie is remarkable. He was able to lead the viewers to the ending where the major revelations can be seen. All throughout the film, the viewers are wondering what is wrong or what is happening.

The lead actor Daniel Kaluuya who played Chris visited his white grirlfriend's parents. Chris observed and wondered the overly hospitable treatment of her family. Her father (Bradley Whitford) and Missy (Catherine Keener) have been enthusiastic about their daughter's black boyfriend. The days that followed led him to discover strange happenings and people that later led him to see an unbelievable truth.

The movie, this early is a sure money maker. Earning more than $30 million on its opening weekend is a huge accomplishment. It was made with a $4.5 million budget. With all the accolades and positive reviews, it will surely double on its second week.

"Get Out" will usher in more horror flicks from Jason Peele. Stay tuned for updates as the movie runs to its second week.
