Before he went on to have an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, Conservative radio talk-show host Alex Jones let his anger out on the TSA because they asked him to remove his shoes while going through security at a Texas airport.
According to Infowars,a site controlled by Jones, Jones was passing through Austin-Bergstrom airport on Monday when he claims the Transportation Security Administration addressed him by name and asked him specifically to remove his shoes. Feeling attacked, Jones immediately refused and the TSA theatened to detain him. The conspiracy theorist thought he was being attacked so he suggested that the TSA probably did something on purpose when the security screener went off during his screening.
Jones said a TSA agent specifically called him "Mr.Jones" and asked him to take his shoes off while going through security. Jones said that no one else was being asked to take off his shoes and he refused. A police officer showed up and told him he would arrest him if he didn't take off his shoes.
Jones says the officer didn't even give him the option of leaving the airport instead of taking his shoes off. He threatened to file a lawsuit for civil rights violations, according to InfoWars. Jones particularly made a big stink about taking off his shoes because he claims he got the fungal infection athlete's foot the last time he had to do it.
Jones eventually gave in and went through the screening, but he says the metal detector started beeping when he passed through and the TSA officers started laughing. InfoWars suggests that the TSA must have made the metal detector go off on purpose to anger him.
Not wanting the issue to escalate further, a TSA manager let Jones pass through.
According to the Daily Mail, the TSA's goal is to "mitigate risk in a way that ensures security measures while both promoting the safe movement of people and commerce and guarding against a deliberate attack against our transportation systems."
The claim that all passengers between the ages of 13 and 17 must take their shoes off while going through screening unless they are physically unable to, in which they'll be screened with other methods.
Jones' blowout with the TSA occurred before he got into a fiery argument with Piers morgan in which he went on an explosive rant in favor of guns, while Morgan favors strict gun control.
