Finally, "Trolls 2" is going to hit the big screen again which will be under the works of Universal and DreamWorks Animation. This upcoming film will soon to star Anna Kendrick and Justine Timberlake again and the production is set to release the movie by April 10, 2020. This has been the date they had set aside earlier as an untitled film from Universal productions.
Apparently, this film will be a follow up to the 2016 hit that made $339.5 million in the box office hits since its November airing. During that time, the film was distributed by 20th Century Fox under DWA's deal before it has been acquired by NBC Universal. Now, the new production will take a blow at its latest franchise as it will have Kendrick and Timberlake being the undying optimist Poppy and the curmudgeon Branch on the movie, Deadline reported.
Thus musical-comedy adventure kind of film previously scored as Best Song Oscar nominee this year and had also won the 2016's most downloaded track at the same time. Its original director Mike Mitchell however won't return for the sequel this time. He had already made commitments earlier this month at the Warner Bros' "The Lego" movie sequel which will also have its release date by February 8, 2019.
It has been three years already since it aired the first sequel and fans will now wait and find out more whether Zooey Deschanel, Gwen Stefani, John Cleese, James Corden, Jeffrey Tambor, and Quvenzhane Wallis will still be coming back for "Trolls 2", Slash Film reported.
Further, since Mitchell won't be returning to direct the film this time, the co-director Walt Dohrn might be directing this film solely. Moreover, fans should expect that the production will have to make more adventures and more characters to love as trolls return back on the big screen. They also wanted to make the music even better.
