There have been quite a few TV shows that have time-travelling as a theme. The newest one, "Time After Time," will feature H.G. Wells on a quest to apprehend the serial killer Jack the Ripper.
Gwinnett Daily Post reports that the new ABC series will feature hotties Freddie Stroma and Josh Bowman as the main characters. Stroma gained a following when he starred in the series based on a reality series "UnREAL" and recently guested in an episode of "Game of Thrones." Bowman, meanwhile, starred as Daniel Grayson in the series "Revenge."
ABC will be air the sci-fi drama beginning March 5. "Time after Time" is actually based on a book and film. The movie version was released in 1979 and starred Malcolm McDowell and David Warner.
The plot of the film centered on Herbert George Wells presenting a time machine to some guests. Once he explained how to use it, police come into his house where they discover that his friend, surgeon John Leslie Stevenson is the infamous killer Jack the Ripper.
The serial killer steals the time machine which takes him to the future. The time machine returns to the original timeline, and HG Wells now uses it to pursue and apprehend Jack in the year 1979.
The newest adaptation brings Stroma's Wells to present time where he needs to adjust to modern society. His friend, Ripper, is delighted with what he is seeing. He claims that in the past, he was a freak, but in the future, he's an amateur compared to the violence he is seeing.
Decider reports that Twitter was abuzz with the upcoming drama. There were some criticisms, though, as both actors are good looking, and no one wants to believe that the infamous Jack the Ripper should look sexy.
