'Middle Earth: Shadow of War' Leaked: Sequel to 'Shadow of Mordor' To Release This August?

The 2014 Warner Bros. action game "Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor" seems to be getting a much-needed sequel and according to the leaks, "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" will just be that. Here are some of the details, a lot of fans might have missed.

It wasn't too much of a secret to those who have played the first game, that the sequel was already in the works, but a recent leak, which originated from NeoGAF. According to the original poster's source, the online retail store Target, have mistakenly (or intentionally) posted a listing that describes, "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War." A total giveaway was the album art, which people rarely see, especially on unannounced titles.

The description of the product says ; "Go behind enemy lines to forge your army, conquer Fortresses, and dominate Mordor from within." and "Experience how the award-winning Nemesis System creates unique personal stories with every enemy and follower, and confront the full power of the Dark Lord Sauron and his Ringwraiths in this epic new story of Middle-earth."

The game is also listed for both the PlayStation and Xbox One platforms only as opposed to the first entry in the series, which also had a Steam version. However, this isn't to say that "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" will be exclusive to the home consoles for good. In fact, there's even no telling whether the listing was accurate "as intended."

"Middle-Earth: Shadow of War" have appeared to be scheduled for an Aug. 22, 2017 release and interestingly, there are already expansions for it including "Slaughter Tribe Nemesis," "Outlaw Tribe Nemesis Expansion" and "The Blade of Galadriel Story Expansion" to name a few. All these are going to be included with the Gold Edition, which also makes the listing appear to be more convincing to be a hoax.

At the time of the writing, the original Target listing has already been removed. If this was WB's way if getting with the times and the industry's way of culminating a hype, fans can definitely say that it is working pretty well for "Middle-Earth: Shadow of War."
