"Counting On" is currently thriving on low ratings. The Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo wedding which is the focus of this season did not show much promise. The actual wedding was part of the previous season's finale. The fans were given the glimpse of the pre-wedding activities in the current season.
However, as expected the wedding ceremony has been shown, the excitement is not that high unlike the anticipation of a ceremony. Besides, the Joy-Anna courtship which was promised to be shown this season has not been shown yet.
If one of the marriageable Duggar gentlemen will take home a bride, it might work wonders on the ratings. Everyone knows that Josiah Duggar has been in a relationship with a family friend named Marjorie Jackson. But they have drifted apart.
The recent stories followed on "Counting On" lack excitement with Jill Duggar confirming her pregnancy and the gender of their baby. Jessa Duggar has given birth to a son. The next exciting episodes will be when Jill Duggar delivers and perhaps when Jessa is pregnant again. But while waiting for them to break the big news, TLC might shift to a more interesting story line.
One of the Duggar boys courting or marrying would be interesting. The show seems to be heading towards that direction according to Hollywood Gossip. In the wedding episode there were three family friends that helped with the preparation for Jinger Duggar's wedding. Austin Forsyth, Lauren Caldwell, and Kendra Caldwell helped make a "V" out of countless roses to be placed near the altar.
Forsyth is courting Joy-Anna Duggar as reported by Daily Mail. The two Caldwell girls might get involved with one or two of the Duggar boys. Fans speculate that Joseph Duggar, 22, seems to eye one of the Caldwell sisters. Their father is a preacher.
Fans wish that these courtships may materialize as they mean an expansion of the storyline. "Counting On" might witness another wedding aside from Joy-Anna Duggar which is over the courtship period.
