Barbadian beauty, Rihanna is promoting tourism to her home country with sexy new ads featuring the star running around the beach in a bikini and riding a horse in short shorts on the Caribbean island. T campaign will be run entirely through social media.
To kick it off, Rihanna, who is an avid Tweeter, posted images on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #Barbados.
The Daily Mail reported that the tourism video features Rihanna on the beach in the stunning Six Mens Bay and floating in the water at Animal Flower Cave. Animal Flower Cave is a beautiful area on the far north of Barbados, to her song "Diamonds."
"We are really pleased with how our campaign has combined heritage with innovation to differentiate Barbados," says Petra Roach of the Barbados Tourism Authority to The Daily Mail. "As a girl, I remember how important and significant these locations were to me."
"The idea of an 'Inside Out' campaign makes it possible for every visitor to experience their own Barbados," she added.
In November Rihanna also offered a "sneak preview" of some of the images from the advertising campaign. This included a shot of her walking into the distance raising her arms in a swimming pool.
The singer was born in Barbados in 1988 in Saint Michael parish which is in the south-west of the island. She was discovered in Barbados in 2003 and has become one of the most famous artists in the world.
The Barbados tourism website says about the beautiful island, "Driving on its English, African and West Indian roots, Barbados has established its own distinctive identity, evidenced in its customs, traditions and values, and passionately expressed through the rich history, exceptional cuisine and artistic talents of its people.
The campaign will continue until February 2013.
