Transgender Caitlyn Jenner took to Twitter a firm message addressed to President Donald Trump. Independent reports that in the video clip uploaded on Thursday, February 23. Jenner didn't hide her displeasure against Trump's reversal of an Obama-era action that allowed transgender kids to use the bathrooms of their choice in schools.
"From one Republican to another, this is a disaster," Jenner said. "You made a promise to protect the LGBTQ community. Call me." One source, on the other hand, says it looks like Jenner lost much of her goodwill towards the commander-in-chief, which is a total opposite of last year when she constantly insisted that Trump would be a good candidate for women.
The former Olympian also took a potshot at Attorney General Jeff Sessions, saying,"Apparently even becoming attorney general isn't enough to cure some people of their insecurities." Jenner is obviously miffed knowing Sessions had a significant involvement in the speedy plan to rollback the Obama directive. The move automatically affects all public schools, most colleges and universities that receive federal funds.
The Washington Post expounded in a past report that Obama's transgender law was handed down from from Catherine E. Lhamon, assistant secretary of education for civil rights, and Vanita Gupta, head of the Justice Department's Civil Rights Division. It put state and local officials and higher-education institutions on notice that they risk losing federal education aid if they limit students to areas or teams based on their gender assigned at birth.
But Jenner did not only address the Twitter message to Trump and Sessions. "Now I have a message for the bullies," Jenner said. "You're sick. And because you're weak, you pick on kids, you pick on women, or anyone else you think is vulnerable. Apparently even becoming the Attorney General."
She also took the opportunity to encourage young transgenders to be strong. "I have a message for the trans kids of America - you're winning," Jenner said in her video. "I know it doesn't feel like it today or everyday, but, you're winning."
