'Somewhere Between' Update: Devon Sawa Cast As Former Cop Turned Investigator In ABC Series

Devon Sawa will be joining actress Paula Patton in the 10-episode series "Somewhere Between" by ABC. It will mark his return to the small screen, where he was last seen in the spy show "Nikita."

Variety reports that Sawa will be playing the role of Nico Jackson, who was a former cop turned investigator. He will be helping Laura Price, played by Patton, in her quest to save her daughter Serena. According to the synopsis, all Laura knows is that her daughter will be killed, but she does not know when or how, and most importantly who will be killing her daughter.

"Somewhere Between" is based on the Korean drama "God's Gift - 14 Days." In the original series, which ran for 16 episodes, the daughter gets kidnapped and murdered. The mother gains the ability to go back in time exactly two weeks before the event of the kidnapping and murder, and through that ability, she tried to do her best to expose the killer of her child.

In the Korean drama, the mother is aided by an investigator who is also on a quest to prove the innocence of his mentally challenged brother falsely accused of murdering his girlfriend. Other characters include the father of the kidnapped child, who is harboring a dark secret of his own, plus a con artist helping the investigator.It is unknown it the adaptation will follow strictly the plot of the original.

Deadline reports that the series is produced by Thunderbird Entertainment along with ITBV Studios America. The executive producers are Stephen Tolkin, Ivan Fecana and Joseph Broido.

While no other cast members have been announced, such as who will play the daughter and the younger brother, it is reported that the shooting will begin by March of this year. It will reportedly air in June 2017.
