A stunning winter light show in Japan at the Nabana no Sato botanical garden, is an annual, anticipated event.
CNN reported that this year's show which runs from mid-November to March 31 has a nature theme. It showcases millions of LED lights that are in flower shaped bulbs. The outcome is a blooming, pink, cherry blossom tunnel, and stunning natural scenes such as Mount Fuji and rainbows.
"Regular illuminated attractions include the walk-through tunnel of light, very popular with romantically linked couples, the cloud of lights, and every year one of the major flower garden areas is transferred into a fairyland-like dazzling display," reported Japantoursist.jp.
The park is located in Nagashima and known for flower blossoms and onsens. It is one of Mie Prefectures most popular tourist attractions and visitors come the the gardens all year round. Hot spring foot baths are free for visitors and there are a number of different dining options including traditional Japanese, French, Italian and Chinese.
Tokyotimes.com reported that nearly all the displays are powered by use of solar panels.
"Without doubt, one of the main attractions is the Winter Illumination, staged between mid November and mid March. Each year there's a different theme to look forward to, and opening night is always much anticipated with any number of celebrities called in to help count down to the flicking of the switch that makes it all come alive," reported Japantoursist.jp.
The show goes on Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tickets cost Y2,000 for adults, which is approximately $24.
