Jodi Arias, is a California woman who is accused of killing her ex boyfriend. After years of delay, the trial will finally begin on January 2, 2013.
Hlntv.com reported that Arias is accused of killing ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in an extremely brutal way. Aleander was shot in the face, stabbing him multiple times and slitting his throat from ear to ear.
Arias' story has changed multiple times, Hlntv.com reported. Originally she said she asn't in the apartment then she changed the story to say that there were two masked intruders that came into the house and attacked them, killing Travis. She then admitted that she killed him and claims self defense.
The Huffington Post reported that Arias will face the death penalty. The defense originally argued that Arias, 31, should not face the death penalty because the killing was not premeditated, but their motion was denied.
Alexander, 30, was a motivational speaker and insurance salesman from Mesa, Arizona. He was found dead on June 9, 2008 by friends who found his body naked inside his shower.
"Authorities ultimately determined Alexander had been shot in the right brow with a .25-caliber gun and stabbed 27 times before his throat was cut from ear to ear," reported The Huffington Post.
Arias was arrested a month after the murders in Siskiyou County, California on July 15, 2008, reported azfamily.com.
A couple of months after her arrest from jail, Arias said to "Inside Edition" that she would never be convicted."No jury is going to convict me ... because I am innocent and you can mark my words on that. No jury is going to convict me."
