Saturday mornings will never be the same again after the TV broadcast industry has once again lost a valuable personality. Fox News senior business correspondent and "Bulls & Bears" host Brenda Butter succumbed to cancer on February 20, 2017 at the age of 55.
According to US Weekly, her network colleague Neil Cavuto was most vocal in expressing his heartbreak over her death. He paid a lengthy tribute to the former reporter during his recent newscast.
While she marveled audiences and business personalities with her financial knowledge, Cavuto says she remained low key about her impressive educational background. Apart from her B.A. social studies degree from Harvard University, she was also a Rhode scholar at Oxford University.
It was also unknown to many that despite a flourishing broadcast career, she still found time to pursue other interests like riding motorcycles and even became a feature editor of Cycle World magazine.
"Brenda sort of had a different bucket list in life. It's when you saw hers, you realize maybe your bucket list was the odd one," Cavuto revealed.
According to Fox News, Buttner initially started as an anchor and reporter for KCRL-TV (NBC 4) in Reno, Nevada. Thereafter, she worked as a Washington correspondent and "The Money Club" host at CNBC before joining the Fox News Channel in 2000.
She was a multi-awarded journalist, wherein the 1990 National Clarion Award and 1996 Cable Ace Award were only two of the numerous accolades she received in recognition for her work. She was likewise generous in sharing her knowledge in business and finance through published articles at The New York Times and Ladies Home Journal.
In contrast, there is little knowledge about her personal life apart from the fact that she has two daughters and formerly married to American political writer Tom Adkins from 2006 to 2010. The family also has yet to release additional information on any schedule for Buttner's memorial services.
