With the arrival of Gen 2 "Pokémon GO," players are now back in action, scrambling to find the best pokémon suited for launching assaults on neighboring and opposing gyms. Here are the best choices in order to ensure swift victories.
The first gen 2 pokémon to look for is the Espeon. While it isn't exactly the strongest among the list, it is one of the easiest, especially with tons of guides scattered across the internet on acquiring it. Espeon has a decent amount of CP, which is generally an ideal candidate for attacking gyms in "Pokémon GO" with its relatively high base attack stat at max.
Another great option is the Dragonite, which made its popularity in Gen 1. Even with the second gen coming around, Dragonite still outperforms most pokémon with its relatively high stats. Its maximum CP can go up to 3581, making it both a formidable attacker and defender for gyms. It was part of the Gen 1 wave, making it slightly easier to capture on "Pokémon GO," especially for those who have been playing for quite a while now. It also consistently tops most online Gym attacker list with its very effective Dragon Breath and Dragon Claw attacks.
While most list also includes Alakazam and Rhydon as effective Gym attackers, "Pokémon GO" and the Gen 2 update currently has the Rock/Dark type Tyranitar as the best Gym Attacker at the moment and possibly, the strongest overall. Ho-Oh would easily be the best gen 2 choice, but since it is a Legendary pokémon, catching it might prove to be an extreme challenge or worse, impossible at the moment, making Tyranitar the next best thing.
Tyranitar has a relatively high amount of maximum CP, which can go up to 3670. Its base attack is, in fact, capable of being more powerful than Dragonite, but with equally good base stamina and base defense. Apparently, besides evolving, Tyranitar can also randomly spawn in certain locations, so be sure to keep an eye on it.
