"Fifty Shades Darker" is one of Universal Productions popular sequels which were able to stay hot in the International Box Office with an average sale of $43.7 million in all 59 territories. It has been the second consecutive win for the movie which made them hit a worldwide gross of $276.9 million.
With the recent records, the popular film has been holding the first place in Germany, Austria, Italy, Netherlands, and Portugal. Apparently, Germany market was the top among the above-mentioned countries with about $6.2 million while declining a 27 percent for a $20.9 million in total. Further, the film also ranked second in UK and Ireland market behind the popular "Lego Batman" film, Yahoo News reported.
With the "Fifty Shades Darker" stars Dakota Johnson and Jaime Dornan, they were really able to reprise their roles really well as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Their characters were able to reignite the romance which had ended in 2015's "Fifty Shades of Grey".
The popular film was directed by James Foley and was again produced by Michael de Luca, Dana Brunetti, alongside Marcus Viscidi. Scripts were also written by Jame's husband, Niall Leonard.
The film's sequel has always been a box office record breaker since it first aired the first film in 2015 with a gross of over $570 million worldwide, Variety reported. Other countries like Brazil also made a hit with this film which totalled to $13.7 million, followed by Italy of $12.9 million, Russia of $10.7 million, and Australia with $10.6 million.
Some other countries are yet to open this film on theatres. Japan will have its final opening on June 23 this year. The film also debut the official soundtrack which was performed by Taylor Swift and Zayn's entitled "I Don't Wanna Live Forever". The song also landed the peak of top 3 out of the Hot 100.
