Zoe Saldana's family just got bigger as the actress and her husband of almost 4 years, Marco Perego, welcome their third son, Zen.
The 38-year-old happily announced last Sunday that their family of four has expanded to five with the birth of their youngest, via her official social media account. On her Instagram post, she uploaded a top-perspective view of her twins - Bowie and Cy, clad in white long sleeves, dotingly looking over their new baby brother, who was sporting a printed red jumper.
"Marco and I are elated to share the news of the the birth of our son Zen," she wrote in the caption. "We couldn't feel more blessed with the new addition to our family. #threeboys... oh boy!"
Following the surprise statement, Saldana and Perego were spotted by The Daily Mail UK with their newborn Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California on Monday. And although the actress obviously was trying to keep her new baby from being photographed, she appeared to be in a good mood during the trip.
Interestingly, Saldana never revealed that she was expecting. By the time she appeared at last year's San Diego Comic-Con in July, alongside the rest of the cast of Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," her belly bump was still barely there. Furthermore, even her announcement last weekend did not specify when Zen was exactly born.
Just last month, the actress shared her parenting experiences with her twins, telling Extra that the 2-year-old boys keep her and her husband's hands full when they are at home. And things get especially rowdy when the two decided to tag team with each other.
On top of being a full-time mom to three adorable kids, Saldana's year will also be busy with a slew of projects getting released and heading into production. She is scheduled to promote "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," in a couple of months where she plays one of the leads named Gamora with James Gunn.
Apart from being part of the "Guardians", Saldana is also confirmed to appear in next year's "Avengers Infinity War" which principal photography has already started in Atlanta, Georgia last week. In addition, she will be reprising her role as Neytiri in the 4 movie sequels for 2009's smash hit, "Avatar." And although nothing has been confirmed as of yet, the James Cameron franchise is said to have the cameras rolling starting sometime this year.
