Here is a bit of good news for fans of the show "Sense8." The show's second season is already on the way and it will not be the end of the series. Rumors have been spreading about how Netflix is planning to axe the show after it debuts but other news reveal that it will feature its upcoming 10 episodes on May 5.
However, actor Brian J. Smith dismissed these rumors in a recent interview with Digital Spy. According to Smith, no final decision has been made as of yet regarding the fate of the series. The actor added that the fate of the show rests with Netflix and the fans.
"That all rests with Netflix and also the fans too - if they like what happens, and they like what they see in season two, we'll hear about it", said Smith. The actor hopes they will be able to do a third season as he believes there is still plenty of story to tell after season two. According to Smith, he is hoping that they will get to finish the "Sense8" story the right way.
He says he recognizes that "Sense8" is not to everybody's tastes and can be a bit challenging to grasp at times. Smith is currently taking part in the theater adaptation of "The Glass Menagerie" in London's Duke of York's Theatre which will be showing until April 29.
"Sense 8" tells the story of eight strangers from all over the world who discover they share a psychic connection after having visions of the violent death of a woman named Angela. They eventually realize that they are all "sensates", a term used for humans who have a strong mental and emotional connection.
This connection allows them to sense and communicate with one another, and they are helped by another sensate called "Jonas" (Naveen Andrews) who is trying to keep them safe from "Whispers" (Terrence Mann), a sensate who leads an organization whose mission is to hunt down other sensates. The show's first season premiered on Netflix in 2015 to positive reviews from critics. "Sense8" season two will premiere on May 5 on Netflix.
