'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' Latest News: Season Pass Problems For Particular Fans

Fans of one of the longest-running video game franchise in the history are highly anticipating "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" for both the Nintendo Switch and the Wii U. It was a great news when the game was announced to be launching along with the latest console, but some reservations are made, however, with the company is, again, taking part with the Season Pass thing, which a huge part of the game's fanbase isn't finding too impressive.

After the announcement of the DLC content for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild," some fans aren't finding Nintendo's continued approach to delivering additional content for games with vague details. In Zero Review's recent post, the $20 DLC/Season Pass called "Expansion Pass" will let players get access to a number of new game features, which nobody is exactly sure what they would be about aside from what they are currently called.

The "Expansion Pass" for "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is divided into two sets, with the first one coming with the Cave of Trials challenge, a hard mode and a mysterious in-game map feature. The second batch consists of a new dungeon, a new original story and even more challenges. Getting the expansion pass also rewards players with three treasure chests, which includes a silly shirt with the Nintendo Switch logo slapped on it.

As posted at Siliconera, the official statement from Nintendo entails that both sets can never be obtained individually. For some reason, a huge percentage of fans who have always been following the series have their qualms about this type of marketing scheme. It is a bit arguable that the $20 price tag for a season pass, where people have no idea what they are getting is going to be worth it, especially after a number of publishers stepped in the business ended up upsetting their respective fans.

However, it would make more sense to at least give people a good idea of what they'll be getting, especially with a price technically 1/3 of the base game. For all the people know, these additional features might be deemed as parts that had been included in the base game and purchasing the DLC might make them feel cheated. Still, "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" is expected to be a great launch title and a $20 season pass may not be minded by the majority of those who would be getting it and this is how people can trust the game's goodness.
